Care

Treat the tool according to what it is made of. The short version:

  • Carbon steel and iron: wash, dry on heat, a drop of oil.
  • Enameled iron: sponge, no scouring powder on the exterior enamel.
  • Knives: hand wash, dry, hone. Stone or ceramic for actual sharpening, twice a year if you cook most nights.
  • Oak: wipe, oil monthly. No dishwasher.
  • Stoneware: dishwasher fine. Keep it off the open flame.
  • Linen: cold wash, hang. Skip fabric softener.

If something fails under ordinary use in the first year, write to us with a photo. We repair or replace.
